Hinduism gives us a choice, to choose your God. You can choose from multiple numbers, to Three, Two, One or None.
Unlike some foreign religions, Hinduism was not invented by one person, getting a flash of divine intuition.
Hinduism, can be defined as a set of religions and religious philosophies that developed or evolved in Indian sub-continent, for example, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, Araya Samajis, Sanatan Dharma, Vedic Dharma and Vedanta.
God is the Horizon of knowledge, as the human knowledge evolved the concept of God also changed.
Early Hinduism evolved from multiple gods, basically the nature was andromorphed into deities representing the natural elements.
We invented the concept of Avatar, to cull the ever expanding claims on divinity. Finally, settling down to three or Trinity to cover the full Life Cycle . Bhrama, represented creation, Vishnu stability and Shiva the creative destruction.
Next number is Two, the Duality. Shiva and Shakti, representing the mass and energy. It's interchangeability, that is mass and energy are interchangeable, is represented by Ardha Nareshwar.
Next come One, the Unity. That is represented as Nirakar Bhrama, or the formless one Force. Sikhism and to a certain level, Arya Samjis follow this philosophy.
Finally, Zero or शून्य (Shyuna). Shyuna means Space and Zero in Sanskrit. 1/0 is infinity. Thus Vendanta provides for Infinite God or Nothinness. Nothing is Everything. All is Maya. This is also subscribed to by Buddism.
Vedanta and it's derivative religion, Buddhism, both question the existence of God.
Thus a Hindu has a choice to choose their belief. That's Freedom of Choice.
